Welcome to my home away from home, where ideas flow in a constant stream (with lots of dips, sudden turns, and drop-offs, of course).

If you're here, you were either lucky enough to stumble upon the world's largest cache of random mumbling aside from Keanu Reeves dialogue; or (this being the more likely of the two) you are one of my esteemed compatriots who I have explained this site to. Either way, welcome to the site, in which everything is random (even the updates).

Thoughts for the Day (August 17, 2003)
I have returned to Westwood, to ten-degree-lower weather and ten-cents-more-expensive gas. I have pretty much settled back in, wasn't too tough. It will be strange returning to work tomorrow morning, as this is probably the longest break I've had from it in a year. Hopefully business hasn't picked up much since I left it, but I have a hunch that tells me otherwise. Either way, I need the money, so I should shut up.
I donated platelets for the first time ever on Friday. The main drive behind this rash action was my roommate, who gave me the lowdown on the benefits: A) free movie tickets, B) free meal tickets, and C) saving the lives of others. I don't remember which order he told me these in, but I felt obliged to head over to the hospital. It's a long story (about 3.5 hours, actually), but at the end of the day I had 3 movie tix, 1 meal ticket, and bandages covering up the elbow joint of both arms, along with a very light head. Definitely worth it, I'll do it again in a week or two.
Over the weekend, I went and saw "Open Range" and "S.W.A.T.". Both enjoyable, but I liked the former more since Robert Duvall is amazing. So is Sammy J, but this role didn't let him play at the top of his game. Aside from those, I watched some T.V., played some random music with my roomie, met up with some friends, and generally relaxed. It was nice.
Which brings me to late Sunday afternoon, typing this up. I'll give you the lowdown on how work goes this week whenever I write the next update. Until then, keep 'em trimmed and burning.
Thanks,
Nathan
